Paris Discovery: I'm a Lazy Dresser

My cousin, me, and some awesome friends went to Paris last summer. The flowers, the buildings, and the people were just beautiful! I don't remember where we were headed, but we got lost one day and ended up on the campus of some university. It was lunch time, and if you've been to Europe you know when it's lunch time because people IMMEDIATELY flock to the parks or fountains outside to picnic.

Anywho - The students were all picnicing outside for lunch and no joke every single one of them looked like they walked right out of an Urban Outfitters or Anthropologie magazine. They were all dressed to the nines, or to the hundreds for that matter.

I instantly realized what a LAZY dresser I am!! My college class wardrobe consisted of jeans, a t-shirt, sandals, a ponytail, and NO makeup. I was amazed at the effort the Perisians put into dressing. Now, If I'm running out of the house I'm always trying to think of quick fixes to try to escape this realm of LAZY DRESSING. My favorite quick fix? Statement necklaces. Here's my latest...

Amazing Find: Kiss a Fat Dog Designs

I was getting my haircut Tuesday, and after washing my hair Emily (my awesome hairdresser) calls me into the lobby to show me something. With my towel wrapped hair Emily introduces me to this lady and shows me the really cute purse she was carrying. Y'all I'm not joking...SO CUTE! From the beautiful  fabric to the detailed stitching this purse was not only fun, but very well put together. We got the name of the designer and come to find out she has an Etsy store. Kiss a Fat Dog Designs not only offers purses, but also (if you're a dog lover like me) dog clothes, and bracelet cuffs. So, go check out her Etsy shop HERE...You won't be disappointed!

Take a look at which one I just got! :)

Southern Nanner Puddin'

I'm going to a crawfish boil today and I am in charge of desserts. Banana Pudding was my instant thought, but sadly I have to admit I've never made it before!! I've eaten plenty, just never made it.
I didn't have a recipie so I decided to cheat and use the recipie on the instant vanilla pudding box. To make it my own I added a little bit of sweetend condensed milk and whipped cream to the mixture. When the mixture was complete I took a swig with my finger. Yep, I like to have a little taste or two (I just hope my friends who will be at the boil today aren't reading). It was SOOOOOOO good and sweet I had to share....

What you'll need:

3 bananas (sliced)
1 can of sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
1 pkg instant vanilla pudding (6 oz)
2 1/2 cups of cold milk
1 carton of whipped cream (16 oz)
1 box of vanilla waffers

What you'll do:

Mix pudding with cold milk, and whisk for about 2 minutes. This wasn't in the package recipie, but I added condensed milk (it started getting really sweet, so I only added about half the can). Keep on whisking. Then  I added about 3/4 of the whipped cream to the mixture. Whisk it in there real good, and let mixture sit. Whatever dish your using (e.g. a bowl or a casserole dish) start with a layer of the vanilla waffers at the bottom, then a layer of sliced bananas, and a layer of pudding mixture. Repeat layers until your mixture is gone. Top it off with the rest of your whipped cream and maybe some extra vanilla waffers to make it pretty. Refrigerate for about an hour before serving.

ENJOY ♥

Sweet Beginnings...

There is no doubt wedding season is upon us! Every single weekend this month we have a wedding to attend, and not to mention two more in May! Don't mistake this post as a complaint, because if you know me well you know that I love everything about a wedding. Whether you're my best friend getting married or my grandmother's sister's daughter's daughter who lives in Canada --I'm probably going to drop a tear or two at your wedding. Something about a couple beginning a whole new life together just brings so much joy to me!

Lately, I've been asked to do several custom pieces for brides. It's been fun working with and meeting different girls trying to design the right piece for each of their personalites. It's really the coolest feeling to know that something I put together will be a part of such a special day. ♥

30 Loving Years!!

Today (along with Easter) we are celebrating my parent's 30th anniversary!
My two sisters and I are so blessed to have been raised in such a happy and healthy home. Between mom's bubbly personality and daddy's dry sense of humor we have shared a tremendous amount of laughter over the years. As life continues on I am realizing that not all kids have had great, loving, caring, and supportive parents like mine. It 's been the 30 years of love and faith shared between my parents that makes us the family we are today. For that, I am truly thankful!

Happy 30th Anniversary!!!!!!!!
