Great Changes

Making and sharing my jewelry has been so much fun that I've decided it's time to expand a little...No more exchanging earrings and checks in my parents mailbox or meeting in the Target parking lot...I am in the process of setting up an account at Etsy.com!!! Smitten was taken in over a million different ways, so I came up with "Charm Du Jour" (Charm of the day). I will let y'all know when it is official, hopefully by the end of the week!

Geaux Saints!!

I have new Saints jewelry to share with lifelong SAINTS fans or my growing list of bandwagon friends! How awesome is it that our home-state football team has the best chance they've EVER had to play in the SUPER BOWL??? Although I have owned a SAINTS t-shirt for over 2 years now I will admit that I haven't been as excited to watch a Saint's game as I am to watch them play the Dallas Cowboys tonight!! Bandwagon fan or not, we shouldn't feel bad to cheer on our SAINTS!! I've definitly made a set for myself for the game tonight...ENJOY!!!! :)

This necklace is antique bronze and VERY light weight. Perfect for cheering on your favorite football team!

These earrings match perfect with the necklace!

Vintage Inspired

Every now and then some of the places I order beads from will send me free samples of jewelry findings from their shop. And I loooooooooove FREE stuff! One shop sent me this antique style filigree wrap, but I put it to the side having NO CLUE what to do with it. I recently decided to use the piece to make a necklace and this is what I came up with! I'm not sure what the actual use of this metal wrap is, but I was so smittened by the final product I ordered more peices to make more necklaces!!!!!!!

Flower Necklace

I was honored to be a part of Lindsay and Derek Blacksher's wedding last weekend! Lindsay is my great friend, was my track teammate, and college roommate. Their wedding was full of nothing but TRUE LOVE!! I am so lucky to have Lindsay and Derek in my life and can't wait to make many more memories together! Anyway, I had my bridesmaid dress cut short in hopes to wear it again in the future!! I wanted to make some kind of necklace with the extra fabric for Lindsay to have as a keepsake, and came up with this! I have so much more fabric so I decided to keep going and make as many as I could to share with anyone else!! The necklace is made with real freshwater pearls and the flower was cut from brown taffeta.

I heart Christmas!!!!

CHRISTMAS...Where do I begin?? I absolutely LOVE everything about Christmas and the holiday season. Besides it being the birthday of Jesus Christ, there are many reasons this time of year brings me so much JOY!

I LOVE giving! I don't have much to give, but it makes my heart warm knowing I am able to put smiles on faces through giving. I LOVE spending time shopping, baking cookies, drinking hot apple cider, and laughing with close family and friends! I absolutely LOVE wrapping gifts and my favorite color is RED! Although my parent's tree is FAKE, I LOVE the smell of a real Christmas tree in the house (one day I will be able to get my own real tree)!

I could go on and on about why this time of year makes me extremely happy, but I will stop there. :o) The main thing I realize is that I am BLESSED! I live the most blessed life I could ever ask for! I'm not sure why He chose me, but God has provided me with way more than I deserve.

Through all of this JOY I'm feeling I came up with my first pair of GREAT holiday earrings...They are a semi precious garnet stone with antique copper findings. Stay tuned because I promise with all of this JOY inside of me there will be many more earrings!

Vintage Earrings

I absolutely LOVE all things old!!!! I love old people, old clothes, old furniture, old places, old music, and these old vintage beads! I found these beads and fell in love!!! I made these earrings simply by taking something old and turning it into something new!! These beads are a turquoise blue and roughed up just enough to leave them with a rustic look. I love them, and I hope you do too! (The pictures are going to look a little better from now on because I finally got the Nikon D3000!!!!!)

WOWZERS

Last weekend was the Jackson Square West Arts and Craft show, where I sold my jewelry and my windows. What an experience! I started with 22 windows and I only have 7 left!! I loved seeing/hearing all the different reactions towards my booth!! It was so great to see family and friends stop by :o) I am so so so blessed to have such supportive family and friends!! A huge thanks to Kyle, my sisters, and my aunt Jane who came by to help throughout the entire weekend. My AWESOME AWESOME mom was there with me every second of the show!

Below I've listed pictures of the windows I have left. These windows are GREAT for the kitchen, utility room, office, or a kid's playroom! The size of each window is roughly about 3' x 4'. They are $50.00, so let me know if you're interested! If you click on the thumbnail picture it will zoom in, then you can see the details. Email me at brittneykleckley@yahoo.com. P.S. They are the PERFECT CHRISTMAS GIFT!

Jackson Square West

I've been slacking with my blog posts simply because I've been working really hard getting ready for my first Arts & Craft booth! The Lake Charles Kiwanis Club puts on an Arts & Craft show every year, but this year it's all NEW. The Jackson Square West Arts and Craft Fair will be held on Nov. 6th, 7th, and 8th. Elton Louviere is this year's featured artist, along with a kids crafting area and Entertainment Stage! Friday November 6th, 6pm-9pm: Sneak preview, Gumbo Dinner, and Silent Auction. Saturday November 7th, 10am-6pm: Kid's crafting area, Kid's entertainment stage & 5K run Sat. morning. Sunday November 8th: show opens 10am-4pm. The name of my booth is "Smitten", and I will be selling large multipurpose windows that I've handcrafted with recycled window panes, along with a large selection of my jewelry. So, get out of the house, come have some fun, and most importantly come support your local artists! :0)

Louisiana loves LSU

Let me start out by saying that I am a McNeese student and I am dating a guy who played MSU football for five years. I love McNeese, and I was always that person going into stores wondering why they hardly sell MSU gear. After my "Gameday Earrings" post I have sold many LSU earrings and NOT ONE McNeese earring. So my question why the stores don't sell hardly any MSU gear has finally been answered. It does not matter who you are, if you are a student at LSU, or if you even go to college at all; pretty much if you live in Louisiana you are a total Tiger fan. LSU is definitly a part of this awesome Louisiana culture we live in. I want to contribute, so I found these SUPER cute purple and gold acrylic beads and added antique bronze fleur de lis charms to create that southern touch. Go Tigers!! (and Pokes, I won't forget you)...I also want to say these acrylic beads are pretty rare which means I may be limited to how many I can purchase. I HOPE ALL OF YOU TIGER FANS (every Louisiana resident) LOVE THESE!

BOO!

Well the cheesey inside of me is out, and YES I made some Halloween earrings. I LOVE them, and they are perfect for teachers to wear for their Halloween classroom parties!!! They are made with both orange acrylic and black glass flower beads, black czech crystal, and silver plated findings. I hope you like these not so scary Halloween earrings :0) (This post is a little later than I expected, but I've been waiting for these beads to come in.)
